Who Are Our iGrow’s Volunteers?

iGrow Hydroponics volunteers are men and women from all over the Bay Area who would like to learn more about weGrow’s operations. They contribute their time and energy to assist weGrow staff and customer base in a wide variety of activities and areas.

 

What are we looking for in a volunteer?


We are looking for honest, dependable and accountable individuals willing to make a (1-6) six-month commitment of (4) four hours per week. Volunteers must be professional, customer service oriented, have the ability to work independent, efficient, productive, and respectful towards all internal and external employees and customers.

Intake Process

Step 1: Review our Volunteer Opportunities
Review volunteering options and rank your top choices on the application

Step 2: Submit Application
Prospective volunteers must submit an application via on-line and can expect to hear back from the weGrow office within three weeks after submission.

Step 3: Interviews
Once your application is received we will contact you to setup an interview to determine acceptance into the volunteer program. You may go through additional interviews depending on the Director of Operations.

Step 4: Orientation
Once accepted as a volunteer you will be invited to a mandatory (30) minute volunteer orientation held about once a month.

Important Guidelines for Volunteering at weGrow Hydroponics

 

I.D. Badge
Human Resources will only issue the identification badge after completing all the above listed steps. Always wear your I.D. badge while you are volunteering at weGrow Hydroponics. It is necessary that volunteers return the badge to the Director of Operations or the Human Resources Department upon the end of their volunteer service.

 

Uniform & Appearance
Volunteers are to purchase any additional company shirts if their shirts become damaged or lost. We suggest that you wear jeans, comfortable shoes or athletic shoes. No open toed shoes please.

Assignments
As a volunteer, you are directly responsible to the department to which you have been assigned. Sometimes a change of assignment is necessary, either for your convenience or to meet the changing demands of weGrow. Please do not change assignments unless you have received prior authorization from the Director of Operations or department manager.

 

Attendance
Volunteers are a vital part weGrow and we count on you being here when you're scheduled. Therefore, if you are unable to be here or running late on your scheduled day, please notify your manager or the Director of Operations as soon as possible. If you plan to take a vacation, it will be greatly appreciated if you would please notify your designated manager or the Director of Operations as soon as you know the dates that you will be away.

 

Proof of Attendance
Be sure to sign on the volunteers sign in sheet at the front cashiers desk when you arrive and sign out when you leave.

Terminations of Service
Your volunteer service may be discontinued if you are frequently absent, have unannounced absences, or do not comply with iGrow policies & procedures. If you decide to discontinue your volunteer work or require a leave of absence, please inform the manager of the designated department or the Director of Operations as far in advance as possible and make arrangements to return your badge and weGrow Logo Shirt(s).
